The Diamondback Insight 1 Performance Hybrid Bike, 2011 Model with 700c Wheels, gives you the best of all biking worlds. This model is ideal for city or town commuting, where weaving in and out of traffic in comfort becomes easy, and it’s also ideal for taking out on country trails where performance is the important thing. It’s a kind of weekday and weekend bike, designed to give you the best from whichever environment you choose. It will look good in city traffic, and it will look just as much at home in the countryside too. I liked this bike so much that I decided to write this review, which I hope helps anyone still wondering which bike they should choose.

Based on Solid Engineering

The Diamondback Insight 1 Performance Hybrid Bike (2011 Model, 700c Wheels) is certainly based on solid engineering. The strong frame, an Insight 6061-T6 design, is made from heat treated aluminum. It will give many years of good quality life if treated properly. The tubes are butted on to each other and are all custom formed. The Diamondback Insight 1 Performance Hybrid Bike also has an aluminum Aero Alloy straight-blade fork holding the front wheel, and an Insight design too.

Shimano Altus Plus 7-Speed Shifter

The rear derailleur features the Shimano Altus, and the this is coupled to the Shimano EF-50 7-speed shifter. That, of course, is coupled via the chain, an integrated “Cane Creek” size drop-in ACB, to the front derailleur, which is a Microshift M22. The combination gives you a total of 21 speeds. The gear is the Shimano HG30, 7-speed cassette and the front derailleur is three-sprocket, which gives 7 x 3 speeds – 21 in total. This is more than enough to make the most of city commuting where mostly lower gears are needed, as well as riding on lonely country roads where mainly higher gears giving more speed are likely to be required.
